Expert’s Opinion
ASTRID HERBECK- Director, German School for Rifle Shooting:-
"Olympian Rifle Shooter, Abhinav Bindra is a regular visitor at DSB (German School of Rifle Shooting) since last three years has undergone specialized training, coaching at our institute. During this period he has also participated in the European Circuit Competitions in Luxembourg, Munich, Arhus, Hague, Wiesbaden and has excelled himself remarkable by winning medals in all these competitions and establishing World record scores in Luxembourg.
Olympian Abhinav Bindra is a very focused, most dedicated Shooter with a single aim to win an "Olympic medal" and his technical abilities to achieve the same are remarkable with a natural talent. In his quest to achieve an Olympic medal, he must attend specialized training stints with a top specialized Coach every month for duration of 7-10 days until Olympic 2004 and we recommend that he must participate in all World cups, International games all over the world and should be accompanied by the Manager and a Coach to all major competitions. He is a Sportsman of highest excellence and we recommend that in order to stabilize his Air rifle and .22 Bore he must periodically also undertake Big bore shooting .306, .308. Apart from a World Class Air Rifle ISSF Shooter, he is also a most prospective international .22 Rifle Shooter of future is our assessment and a medal hope.
We at DSB- German School of Rifle Shooting are very impressed by his high caliber discipline qualities and an excellent code of conduct of Abhinav which speaks volumes of his generic qualities, and we are confident that one day he will be an "Olympic medal winner" as he has all Olympic winning traits in him and suggest that his country to take care of all his Shooting needs for achieving such an important goal for his Country."
Lanny Bassham- Olympic and World Champion, presently running the prestigious Lanny Bassham mental Institute
"Olympian Abhinav Bindra is a remarkable young athlete. He is mature in shooting well beyond his years and has all the potential of becoming an Olympic Champion one day provided he has all the necessary training, coaching and exposure to international competitions. Having trained hundreds of shooters and dozens of world and Olympic champions, I must say that Abhinav is one of the most remarkable and capable young shooters I have had the pleasure to know and is clearly the future Olympic champion,."
Sardar Prakash Singh Badal- Hon. Chief Minister of Punjab (INDIA).
"The young teenaged wonder is a pride of Punjab and our Country. He has reached heights, which very few could ever think of and he has done it at such a tender age. We would give our best support to the young prodigy so that he brings home bigger laurels like the Olympic Gold. I present the cheque for Rs 10 Lac as a small token of our appreciation. Here I would also like to state that a few posts in police departments would be offered to all those players belonging to the state who had excelled at the national and international levels. It’s the responsibility of the State Government to encourage sports, and the State Government would fulfill Bindra’s requirement of equipment."
Mr. Baljit Singh Sethi- Secretary General of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI)
