Our goals are clear and easily achievable but this task would be much easier if private sector, Semi Govt. concerns and citizens with mega-status come forward to hold our hands and support us in our noble and nationalistic cause.
We at Abhinav Sporting trust are committed towards supporting and grooming sports talents, who at their full potential would mean a certain medal for the nation and a moment of glory in the world history. We have a dedicated network and a committed team with a streamlined and planned approach. All our efforts would be directed towards providing infrastructure, equipment, technology and a solid platform for the very talented young sportsmen.
We are sure that this fertile soil is capable of producing many more great names like Olympian Abhinav Bindra, if given the resources. We have a vision and we are steadily working towards its realisation, now we seek your helping hand to support the cause of the exceptional supporting talents of this gifted land.
The objectives behind the formation of Trust are multifarious and are mentioned above; to start with it has chosen to support Abhinav as the costs involved in pursuing the single point programme of obtaining the Olympic Gold is by no means within the reach of an individual. As it is known that Abhinav’s family is financially sound but the yearly expenses of Rs 1.30 crores over and above the cost of developing an Olympic standard infrastructure to the cost of Rs 50 Lacs, is well out of the reach of resources of any individual. The contribution of the Govt. would be around Rs. 20 Lacs, so we still need to fill a huge gap. Govt has shown its empathy to our sporting cause but we understand that there are time and resource constraints in any govt machinery and we have to live with that. At the same time there can be no compromise on the quality of training as there are world level specifications for the training and equipment ingredients, which are a must to build an Olympic Champion. This may be noted that the top countries in this field are providing support to the tune of Rs. 10 Crores to build an Olympic Champion.
Shooting is a highly competitive sport and timely action is important. Abhinav daily spends 8-10 hours looking & hitting at the bulls eye and every single minute of this routine counts. Now we look forward to improve upon the quality factor of this time spent, so that we are able to work on the single point programme of aiming at the Olympic Gold. The success of the Trust in moving Abhinav towards incomparable excellence would also help it subsequently to streamline other talents in shooting as well as other sports. We must keep in mind that Abhinav’s ultimate goal is to make a dent in the International Sporting Scenario and contribute towards our global standing. This goal of our Ace Shooter is infact the most important driving force for our initiative to set up a Sporting Trust and once the World Champion is created, the Trust would pick up one of the most talented upcoming shooter so that we could churn out more medal winners in various disciplines of Shooting. Our motto would be "pick one- churn one" to reach the top.
The timer is being set and now everyone has to contribute his bit. The Govt has come forward and we are grateful for the dynamic Sports ministry, but the apathy of the Corporate & Business houses is very painful. It seems all the corporate people seem to think only about immediate tangible gains with no sense of responsibility towards the sports talents fighting for the nations glory. Minting money seems to be the only criteria behind all sports sponsorships; no wonder that even after the stigma & scandal attached to match setting, cricketers are the most preferred ones by our corporate. If we sit back and wait for corporate support, we would waste our time, so all of the responsible citizens of India will have to rise to the occasion and only by joining hands together we could think of bringing about this much desired change. Abhinav is not putting so much of efforts for any personal gains; else he would have readily accepted some lucrative overseas offers, which came in his way and are frequently pouring in. Every ounce of his energy goes into bringing national glory and it is our obligation to give full backing to the young prodigy and a chance to reach and utilise his full potential.
The bronze in the World Cup Munich could have been a Gold also as there was a difference of just one point and it highlights his being among the very best in the world. To maintain such a high level performance in Shooting Sport is a Himalayan task and our cash rich corporate houses may never appreciate or understand it. Credit goes to Abhinav for remaining at the pinnacle by own efforts but at this level sportsmen needs to be the best not only in competitions but also in training. This is very important for this ace shooter filled with so much of National pride and he is not willing to waste a single minute in his march towards the Olympic Gold. As such the hurdles in the demanding Shooting World are enormous for Abhinav and he does not need uncalled for restricting factors, which ultimately are financial in nature. We through this Sporting Trust, are trying to clear all such hurdles and appeal to the citizens of this proud nation to please co-operate in our endeavours with a positive attitude and come forward for a cause. This specifically goes out to the corporate houses that certainly have an obligation towards nation building.
We thank all the Press houses and media concerns for their unbiased and unconditional support to all our efforts and we believe that considering the motivational impact, this has a tremendous contribution in all the glorious victories. We thank the brilliant role of media in our country in acknowledging the achievements of our players and thus make their path towards glory, less cumbersome. Publicity acts as a tonic in the determination to excel and if our media efforts are streamlined than it would not be long before we win the hearts and minds of our responsible citizens, and people come forward to aid the struggle of our warriors. We all have this responsibility and together we should work for quenching the thirst of a nation, starving for Olympic Gold for the last 53 years.
We also are thankful to the Govt for all the motivational support being provided and the special issuance of Tax Exceptions on the grant forwarded to the Abhinav Sporting Trust is also a gesture of appreciation of our efforts. This would mean an Enormous tax saving device, as confirmed by the Central Govt., that any concern sponsoring/donating Abhinav would get tax benefits as per section 35 B, Section 80-G and Section 12-A (a) of Income tax act 1961.
We earnestly thank the nation for all the well wishes and support it has given and let us resolve to be even more consistent in meeting out our responsibility towards our sporting talents so that our champion hit the bulls eye with equal consistency. |
